Help at a Glance: Technical Help

How do I log on?

Select the log in button in the top right hand corner of our homepage to access our secure login page and enter your username and password. If you are a Lumenos customer and you are trying to log in for the first time, please follow some of these tips to successfully log in:

  • Type both the temporary username and password exactly as it appears in the letter you received in the mail. Your password is case sensitive, so be sure to type all lower-case letters as lower case and all upper-case letters as upper case.
  • For your security, you cannot see your password as you type it (asterisks will appear). To ensure there are no errors, please be sure that the Caps Lock function on your keyboard is turned off. Also, there should be no spaces appearing in, before or after your password.
  • Carefully read your temporary username and password before entering it. An error will occur if you accidentally enter the letter "I" instead of the numeral one or if you enter the letter "O" in place of the numeral zero.

If you continue to have difficulties, please contact a Lumenos Customer Service Advocate at the toll-free phone number appearing on your Lumenos ID card.

What does case sensitive mean?

Your password is case sensitive. This means if you entered your password with all capital letters (i.e. "HELLO"), our system will not recognize any lower case letters when entering your password (i.e. "Hello" or "hello"). For first time users, you must enter your temporary password exactly as it appears in the log in information provided.

What if I've forgotten my username or password?

If you are a Lumenos member and you have forgotten your username or password, please call a Lumenos Customer Service Advocate at the toll-free number appearing on your ID card.

Why has my account been locked and what can I do about it?

After five unsuccessful log in attempts, Lumenos automatically locks your account to protect the security of your personal information. To unlock your account, please call a Lumenos Customer Service Advocate at the toll-free number appearing on your ID card.

What are the technical requirements for viewing this site?

This site is best viewed with Internet Explorer 4 or Netscape Navigator 4 or higher. The site is JavaScript enabled and requires 16-bit color or higher, 800x600 resolution, and session cookies enabled to be viewed properly.

When I use Internet Explorer, some Web pages seem to have difficulty loading, freeze my browser, or load slowly. How can I fix this?

Microsoft frequently releases patches to its Internet Explorer browser. Some combinations of these patches may actually cause adverse effects when viewing certain types of Web pages (both for the Lumenos Web site and others). For this reason, Lumenos recommends that you make sure you have all of the latest patches and service packs available for Internet Explorer loaded into your system.

It's easy to do make these updates and highly advisable for the general stability of your computer.

Simply go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and follow Microsoft's instructions for upgrading your software. If you are trying to make these updates to your computer at work and you do not have the administrative rights to load software on your computer, please contact your network administrator or help desk to perform this task for you.
